Emery Ray Towler, 60, of Exeter, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, in St. John's Regional Hospital, Springfield.

He was born Jan. 2, 1950, in Eagle Rock, the son of Wilbur and Imogene (Goutney) Towler. On Sept. 27, 1968, in Cassville, he was united in marriage to Gail "Luann" Stringer, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Kevin Ray Towler, of Exeter; one daughter, Krystal G. Walker and her husband, Billy, of Exeter; his mother, Imogene McNeil, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; one brother, Max Towler and his wife, Mary Jane, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Sue Lyon and her husband, Robert, of California, and Jodi Henry and her husband, Don, of Marionville; and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his father.

He received his education at Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School with the class of 1967. He had been employed for Smurfit-Stone Container in Rogers, Ark., for several years. His entire life was spent in Barry County. He had attended Eagle Rock Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Brother Art Rogers conducted the services. Burial with military honors was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
