Richard Arlen Joyner, 73, of Washburn, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin.
He was born in Washington, D.C., July 5, 1937, the son of Jake and Rose Elizabeth (Henke) Joyner. On Aug. 26, 1961, in Springhill, La., he was united in marriage to Joyce Dees, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Richard R. Joyner, of Seligman, and Victor J. Joyner, of Flanders, N.J.; one daughter, Annettia A. Lowthert and her husband, Jason, of Long Pond, Penn.; one brother, Clifford Joyner and his wife, Jane, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Betty Wright and her husband, Dave, of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He received his education in Yeadon, Penn. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged Oct. 10, 1962. He worked for the Eastman Kodak Company. In 2005, he and Joyce moved to Washburn to make their home and be close to family.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
