Karleen Carol Hodge, 67, of Cassville, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
She was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Liberal, Kansas, the daughter of George Allen and Edna I. (Cammarn) Ackley.
Karleen received her education in Barry County, where she spent most of her life. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, quilting and painting pictures for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and took pleasure in canning what she grew. She worked several years for Fasco as a lead lady, from which she retired.
She is survived by her beloved companion, Tom Hollopeter of Cassville; two sons, Gary Hodge and his wife, Jeannette of Monett, Missouri and Tony Hodge and his wife, Tammi of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Tessie Holle and her husband, David of Verona, Missouri; her mother, Edna Burmingham of Garden City, Kansas; one sister, Norma Ruth Ruby of Scotts City, Kansas; a half-sister, Linda Decker of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a half-brother, Larry Burmingham of Sublette, Kansas; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and her beloved "Coco."
Preceding her in death were her father, George Allen Ackley; step-father, H. G. "Red" Burmingham and beloved aunt and uncle, Sally and Dewey Savage.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 12, 2010, in Corinth Cemetery, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Aaron Weibel will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
