Virginia L. (Jenny) Orndorff, 64, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010, at St. John's Hospital, Cassville.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1945, daughter of Thomas Burton and Juanita Vaughn, in Jasper, Ark. She was a resident of Purdy for 30 years after moving there from Rogers, Ark. She was self-employed as a hairdresser in Cassville.She sang and played country music and was privileged to record with the Grand Old Opry twice and was voted best traditional female artist on an independent label.
She married Johnny J. Orndorff in 1968 in Springdale, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2004.
Survivors include: one daughter, Daisy Orndorff, of Purdy; one son, Danny Orndorff, of Monett; three stepdaughters, Tina Orndorff, of Pea Ridge, Ark., Carla Waters, of Bella Vista, Ark., and Vicki Clanton, of Rogers, Ark.; two brothers, Tommy Burton, of Joplin, and Billy Burton, of Cassville; and two sisters, Linda Burns, of Purdy, and Janie Woods, of Pea Ridge, Ark.; and several grandchildren.
At this time there are no services scheduled. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory.
