Irvin L. Speakman, 65, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, in his home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1944, in St. Louis, the son of Irvin and Mae (Kettler) Speakman. On Oct. 26, 2000, in Cassville, he was united in marriage to Alberta (Gray) Lewis, who survives.
Additional survivors include: three children, Mark Speakman and his wife, Kelly, of Cassville, Todd Speakman and his wife, Lorie, of Cassville, and Paige Speakman, of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; four step-children, Michael Lewis, of St. Louis, Veronica Adams and her husband, Walter, of St. Louis, Revicia Lewis, of St. Louis, and Michelle Lewis, of St. Louis; and 10 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
He received his education in St. Louis and graduated from Afton High School. During the Vietnam War, he entered the United States Army, serving from Aug. 18, 1962, to Dec. 31, 1976. He then served in the reserves and continued his education. For several years, he was a mechanical engineer for Chase Packaging in St. Louis. Fifteen years ago, he moved to Cassville to make his home. He was a member of the Baptist faith and the Meridian Masonic Lodge #2.
Graveside services with military honors were held at Thursday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
