The quartet of Calisia Brooks, Risa Darveaux, Reba Dupont and Danielle Pianalto took first place with a 1:48.32 clocking, eclipsing the previous record of 1:49.9 set back in 1999.
The same group of girls also qualified for state in the 4x100 meter relay, placing third in 52.03.
Dylan Gibson qualified in both the shot and discus, taking fourth in both events. Gibson threw the plate 142'7" and the shot 48'4.5" for the Wildcats.
Devin Linenbrink took third in the long jump with his 21'7" leap, and Matt Angel was third in the high jump, clearing 6'2". Linenbrink also placed seventh in the triple jump.
No Cassville boys qualified in the running events. The 4x100 meter relay team of Joseph Gouvion, Josh Lewright, Devin Linenbrink and Trevor Shumaker finished sixth in 44.95, lowering their school record in the process.
The MSHSAA Class 3 and 4 State Track and Field Championships get underway on Friday at Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
