Edna Louise Swope Hill, 68, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at her residence in Seligman.

She was born on Feb. 17, 1942, in Venice, Ill., daughter of Clarence Richard and Myrtle Marie (Lyon) Swope. She attended school in several states and at one point attended 13 schools in one year. she graduated from nursing school in 1971. She was baptized in 1994 and became a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Seligman.

She married Frank Hill on March 8, 1961. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1999.

Survivors include: one son, David Scot Hill, of St. Louis; two daughters, Lisa Gillis, of Seligman, and Jamie Leigh Powers, of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Arlin Swope, of Cherokee Pass.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by identical twin sons, Joey Lee and Johnny Lee Hill in 1964, and one brother, George Orlo Swope in 1998.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 17 at the White Funeral Home in Cassville with Chaplain Jack Betts officiating. Burial was at King Cemetery in Seligman.pic
