Gerald Thompson, age 94, of Eagle Rock, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010, in Eureka Springs Hospital, Eureka Springs, Ark.
He was born June 30, 1915, in Eagle Rock, the son of Jeff and Minnie (Haddock) Thompson. On Jan. 1, 1938, in Wheaton, he was united in marriage to Naomi Irene Prier, who preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2000. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Rosemary Burch; one sister, Nadine McMillen; and three sons-in-law, Robert Scott, Elbert Ash and Phil Burch.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Thompson and his wife, Lynda, and Lyle Thompson and his wife, Jean, all of Eagle Rock; two daughters, Sharon Ash and Gwen Votipka, both of Eagle Rock; one sister, Ruth Sherman of Anderson; eight grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.
He received his education at Mt. Zion School at Eagle Rock. He was a life-long resident of Eagle Rock, where he was a dairy and beef farmer. He was a member of Carr Lane Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Tim Blankenship, Brother James Ogan and Pastor Charles Lauderdale will conduct the services. Burial will be in Munsey Cemetery, Eagle Rock.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
