Jewell F. Simpson, 84, of Jasper, formerly of Cassville, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010, at her home. She was born Jan. 11, 1926, near Hallowell, Kan., to Olan James and Ruth (Zwahlen) Pryor. she was united in marriage to Johnnie Simpson on June 21, 1946, in columbus, Kan., and he survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Brian K. and his wife, Stella, of Jasper, and Tracy N. and his wife Lorene, of Lamar; one brother, Leon Pryor, of Marshfield; one sister, Norma Hayes, of Springfield; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a minister for the Church of God Holiness for many years. She also worked as a secretary for Cassville attorney Emory Melton.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home with Rev. John Poff officiating. Burial followed at Arnhart Cemetery, Purdy.
Memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice.
