Ruth Elaine Stewart Still, 78, of Monett, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010, in The Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville.
She was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Wheaton, the daughter of James and Lula (Haynes) Paul. She was united in marriage to Jack Stewart, Jr., and to this union four children were born. He preceded her in death in September, 1993. Later, she married Leonard Still, who also preceded her in death. Others preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Franklin and Bradley Stewart; and two brothers, Edward and Dewey Paul.
Survivors include: two sons, Bruce Stewart and his wife, Delores, of Monett, and David Stewart and his wife, Ginny, of Fallon, Nev. and the late Brad Stewart's wife, Kay, of Butterfield; four brothers, Ronnie Paul, of Harrison, Ark., Jim Paul, of Stockton, Calif., Jackie Paul, of Dallas, Ore., and Danny Paul, of Harrison, Ark.; two sisters, Reta Oneta, of Stockton, Calif., and Faye Parker, of Shell Knob; a special sister, Bonnie Stewart, of Marionville; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She grew up in Wheaton where she married Jack. They later moved to California for a while and then returned to the Ozarks. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of Chapel of the Ozarks in Rocky Comfort where she enjoyed singing in a quartet.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Rev. Joe Wogoman conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery, Wheaton.
