Mary Jewell Thomas, 75, of Cassville, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

She was born Feb. 20, 1935, in McDonald County, the daughter of John and May (Lewis) Longshore. On April 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to Billy R. "Bill" Thomas, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Ray Thomas and his wife, Cindy, of Cassville; one daughter, Cristie Batsche and her husband, Tom, of Cassville; one sister, Pearl Heiskell, of Stella; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Glenn Longshore, and D.J. Longshore and two sisters, Opal McCoy and Ruby Evans.

She attended one year of her schooling in Rocky Comfort and received the rest of her education in Stella, where she graduated from high school. Her entire life was spent in McDonald and Barry counties as a homemaker. She was a member of Shaddy Grove Community and First Baptist Church, Butterfield.

Funeral services were held Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. David Eaton and Pastor Bobby Harrison conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
