Ulus "J.R." Forrest, age 77, of Eagle Rock, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010, in his home.
He was born June 5, 1932, in Harrison, Ark., the son of Ulus Forrest, Sr. and Crystal (West) Forrest. On Aug. 4, 1990, in Harrison, Ark., he was united in marriage to Patsy (Teague) Dunn, who survives.
Additional survivors include: his children, Danny Forrest, of Hot Springs, Ark., Marvin Forrest, of Shell Knob, Fred Forrest, of Eagle Rock, Crystal Forrest, of Golden, and Leann Whitehead and her husband, Chris, of Mountain Home, Ark.; a stepson, Neal Dunn and his wife, Becca, of Edmond, Okla.; stepdaughter, Kim McCollough and her husband, Daryl, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one brother, Charlie Forrest and his wife, Kathy, of Benton, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He received his education in Bergman, Ark., where he graduated from high school. Most of his life was spent as a self-employed carpenter. Twenty-four years ago, he moved from Harrison, Ark., to Eagle Rock, to make his home. He was a member of Oregon Flat Baptist Church in Harrison, Ark.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Roaring River Baptist Church, Eagle Rock. Pastor Charles Lauderdale and Rev. Paul Yarnall will conduct the services. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
