Stanley Ray Tackett, 58, of Exeter, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, in St. John's Hospital, Cassville.
He was born May 24, 1951, in Garden City, Kan., the son of Earl Stanley and Lora D. (Bell) Tackett, who survive.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Jeremiah Patterson, of Salida, Colo., Jason Patterson, of Denver, Colo., Waylon Tackett, of Las Animas, Colo., and Chris Appeling, of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Jayna Appeling, of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, David A. Tackett, of Buda, Texas, and Kerry T. Tackett, of Deerfield, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Josh Tackett.
He received his education in Deerfield, Kan. During the Vietnam War he served with the 101st Airborne in the United States Army. In 1999, he moved from Deerfield to Exeter, to make his home. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church and the VFW.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Deerfield United Methodist Church, under direction of Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City, Kan. Rev. Wayne Stephens will conduct the services. Interment will be in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Kan.
