MARY LOUISE BURGE BEARD

Mary Louise Burge Beard, 82, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Table Rock Healthcare Facility in Kimberling City.

She was born on Jan. 16, 1928, in El Reno, Okla. daughter of Allie L. and Lena (Carnahan) Burge. She graduated from El Reno High School in 1946. Following graduation, she marred Robert "Bob" Beard on May 30, 1952, in El Reno, Okla.

She was employed by OGE Energy Corporation in El Reno, Okla., and Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company in Liberal, Kan. They moved to the Knob Hill Subdivision in Shell Knob in 1977, and later moved to Golden to be with her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Terry Liggett. While they lived in Shell Knob, she and her husband were very active in Shell Knob Shrine Club. She was a member of the Community Lutheran Church in Eagle Rock.

Survivors include: one daughter, Allena Dee (Beard) Gaston, of Mulvane, Kan.; a son-in-law, Terry Liggett, of Golden; one grandson; two brothers, George Burge, of Topeka, Kan., and Les Burge, Bullard, Texas; one sister, Emily "Aunt Honey" Harris, of Golden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Lee Liggett, and her brother, D. C. Burge.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home.
