Darlene Sue Meredith, 66, of Shell Knob, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
She was born March 3, 1943, in Poplar Bluff, the daughter of Dewey Nathan and Mildred Ellen (Moss) Million. On June 3, 1961, in Ellsinore, she was united in marriage to Billy "Bill" Meredith, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Anthony "Tony" Meredith and his wife, Elaine, of Farmington, and Ritchie Meredith and his wife, Jennifer, of Aurora; one daughter, Michelle "Shelly" McCoy and her husband, Mark, of Mount Airy, Md.; her mother, Mildred Million, of Farmington; two brothers, Donnie Million, of Springfield, and Jerry Million and his wife, Sharon, of Farmington; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Nathan, and a grandson, Nathan.
She received her education at Ellsinore, where she graduated from high school. In 1988, she moved from House Springs, to Shell Knob to make her home. For 16 years, she was employed with Barry County Health Department as their environmental secretary and clerical staff coordinator. She was a member of Viola Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Viola Baptist Church. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
