Willie Arnold "Bill" Stephens, 82, of Exeter, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, in his home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1928, in LaMesa, Texas, the son of Robert and Annah (Krey) Stephens. On June 10, 1966, in LaMesa, Texas, he was united in marriage to Glenda L. Herndon, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2002. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by one son, Willie Robert Stephens, of Exeter.

He grew up and received his education in LaMesa, Texas, where he graduated from high school. On April 16, 1946, he entered the United States Army, serving until Oct. 31, 1947. For 25 years, he owned and operated Bill's Drive-In in Texas. In 1992, he and Glenda moved to Exeter to be closer to her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Jerry Ruark will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
