John H. Robertson, 86, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, in his home.
He was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Rutherford, N.J., the son of William A. and Mary (Holland) Robertson. On May 28, 1945, in PerShore, England, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Colquhoun, who preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 2006. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, William Robertson.
Survivors include: two daughters, Marilyn Scheifele, of Cassville, and Karen Brown and her husband, Neal, of Cassville; one son, John Robertson and his wife, Linda, of Connecticut; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Rutherford High School and received his bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, N.J. During World War II, he served our country in the United States Army Air Corp. He entered Feb. 4, 1943, and was honorably discharged as corporal on Oct. 7, 1945. Most of his life was spent in New Jersey. Seven years ago, he moved to Cassville to make his home. He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, Cassville.
Memorial services were held Friday in St. Edwards Catholic Church, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Father David Miller conducted the services. Interment was at Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.
