David A. Balding, 61, of Eagle Rock, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, in Freeman Hospital (West), Joplin.

He was born March 14, 1948, in Evergreen Park, Ill., the son of Virgil and Mary (Powell) Balding, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include: one brother, Donald Balding and his wife, Janet, of Springfield, Ill.; and one sister, Sylvia Kondorf and her husband, Mike, of Cassville.

He received his education in Chicago, Ill., where he graduated from high school. During the Vietnam War he enlisted in the United States Marines Corps, serving our country from Jan. 27, 1966, until Oct. 8, 1971. He was a talented musician and taught guitar at Jack Moore Guitar School. In 1990, he moved from Chicago to Missouri to make his home.

Memorial services were held Saturday in First Baptist Church, Cassville. Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
