Donald Lee Williams, 81, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, in Northwest Medical Center, Bentonville, Ark.

He was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Kenneth and Virginia (Stanley) Williams. On Dec. 23, 1951, in Wichita, Kan., he was united in marriage to Mary Sue Gann, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, David Williams and his wife, April, of Shell Knob, Steven Williams and his wife, Kim, of Rogers, Ark., and Jeffrey Williams, of Shell Knob; and one grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Dale Williams.

He graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kan. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 until 1948, stationed in San Diego, Calif. He received his Bachelors degree from Friends University in Wichita, Kan., and obtained his master's degree at Wichita State University. Much of his life was spent in Wichita, where he was a teacher and principal for the Wichita school system. He then was an educator and principal in Des Moines, Iowa, before moving to Shell Knob in 1976. Upon moving to Shell Knob, he and his wife purchased Campbell Point Boat Dock. In 2007, they moved to Springfield, living there until one month ago, when they moved to Rogers, Ark. He was a member of Shell Knob Church of Christ.

Memorial services were held Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Wayne Deffenbaugh conducted the services. Military honors were be conducted by VFW Post #2203.
