Quentin Carl Epperly, 90, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, in Barry County Care Center, Cassville.
He was born March 14, 1919, in Shell Knob, the son of Charley and Maggie Matilda (Brock) Epperly. On Dec. 25, 1940, in Cape Fair, he was united in marriage to Norma Lee Cope, who preceded him in death in 1982. He later married Wanda Fern Lane, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Dennis Epperly and his wife, Brenda, of Cassville; one daughter, Patricia Fordyce, of Billings; one stepdaughter, Janet Howard, of Springfield; a stepson, Larry Lane and his wife, Betty, of Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters-in-law, Chloe Epperly, of Cassville, and Barbara Kernodle, of Harrison, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Jewell Epperly, of Cassville, and Joyce Miller, of Warrensburg; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death other than his first wife, were his parents; two sons, Donald Epperly and Charles Epperly; a son-in-law, Ted Fordyce; two brothers; and four sisters.
He received his education at Shell Knob and Cassville High School, graduating with the class of 1938. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy. He was a cattle farmer and was also a carpenter. He had been a member of Mill Street Church of Christ since 1940.
Funeral services were held Thursday in Mill Street Church of Christ, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Wayne Deffenbaugh conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
