Robert Alan "Rob" Gripka, 48, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, in his home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1961, in Monett, the son of Bill and Hazel (Fetters) Gripka. On May 17, 1980, he was united in marriage to Lannetta "Netta" Horn, who survives.

Additional survivors include: his parents, Bill and Hazel Gripka, of Cassville; one son, Tyler Gripka and his wife, Anya, of Lamar; two daughters, Mindi Gates and her husband, Justin, of Cassville, and Jessie Gripka and her fiancÚ, Josh Rambo, of Cassville; one grandson; two sisters, Rhonda Harris and her husband, Rick, of Purdy, and Regina Pry and her husband, Mark, of Cassville; his mother- and father-in-law, Rick and Sue Horn, of Cassville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He received his education at Cassville, graduating with the Class of 1979. He attended SMS, now MSU. He lived and worked in this area his entire life. For 14 years he was freight manager for Conway Trucking. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cassville, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for third through sixth grade. He was a Cassville R-IV School Board member and had served in many positions for the Cassville Booster Club.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Brother Danny Heupel conducted the services. Burial was at Russell Cemetery, Butterfield.
