Waldemar "Wally" Oswald, Sr., 76, of Shell Knob, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, in his home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1933, in Romania, the son of Fredrick Oswald and Emma (Raugust) Oswald. On April 23, 1955, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, he was united in marriage to Liesbeth Hartwig, who survives.
Additional survivors include: four sons, Wally Oswald, Jr., of Shell Knob, Eric C. Oswald and his wife, Karla, of Shell Knob, Mark Oswald and his wife, Vickie, of Plano, Texas, and David Oswald, of Key West, Fla; two brothers, Ed Oswald, of British Columbia, and Harry Oswald of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; three sisters, Alida Arens of Escondito, Calif., Sue Plato, of British Columbia, and Ella Oswald, of British Columbia; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Oswald.
He received his education in Germany, and then went on to serve his apprenticeship as a carpenter. He then immigrated to Alberta, Canada, and then moved to Chicago, Ill. In 1972, he moved to Shell Knob to make his home.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
