Kenneth Albert Erick, 65, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, in Walnut Lawn Rehabilitation Center, Springfield.

He was born Oct. 1, 1944, in Trenton, N.J., the son of Walter and Bernice (Cook) Erick. On May 14, 1983, in Palos Heights, Ill., he was united in marriage to Sandra Marie Walrath.

Survivors include: his wife; one son, Kenneth Erick and his wife, Gloria, of Palos Hills, Ill.; one daughter, Misty Olivero and her husband, Steve, of Plainfield, Ill.; one sister, Ginny Hausser, of Robbinsville, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

He received his education in Palos Ill. He worked as an excavator for Midwest Operating Engineers in Countryside Ill. He moved to Shell Knob, from Midlothian, Ill., in 1994, where he opened a small engine repair shop.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
