New community magazine launched
"Connection," a new magazine for Barry and Lawrence counties, has been launched. The 42-page full color magazine is the first of its kind to be published in the Cassville and Monett areas and will be a new monthly publication.
According to Lisa Schlichtman, the editor of "Connection," the new magazine will focus on the people of southwest Missouri.
"Our new magazine will be a publication readers can't wait to open each month," said Schlichtman. "The pages of Connection magazine will be filled with stories about interesting people and places that make this area such a great place to live and work and raise a family."
"Connection" debuts with a 5,000-copy print run and can be found around the bi-county area at businesses, offices, clinic waiting rooms and restaurants.
The first issue of "Connection" features articles on Linn Thornton, Monett's own Santa Claus, a fitness program run by Mike and Vicky Harris in Mt. Vernon, music instructor Dr. Russell Robinson's return visit to Cassville Schools and an inside look at the popular Tinsel Tea event in Cassville.
This month's magazine also has a question-and-answer profile with Monett Judge Mike Garrett, a health column by Nancy Ridgley from Cox Monett Hospital, a book review by Jo Anne Ellis and a page of delicious recipes.
Additional features include an upcoming events calendar and photo features on area events such as the Monett Chamber of Commerce's Festival of Flavors, the Cassville Chamber of Commerce's Fall Festival and Chili and Salsa Cook-off and the Cox Monett Hospital's Pink Tea.
"Connection" is a publication of the Cassville Democrat, The Monett Times and Rust Communications.
