Juanita "Pearl" Vanderpool, 82, of Kansas City, Kan., formerly of Exeter, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in her home.

She was born May 30, 1927, in Butterfield, the daughter of Raymond and Florence (Hilburn) Priest. In 1943, she was united in marriage to Earl Vanderpool, who preceded her in death on July 9, 1994. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Murl Priest.

Survivors include: four sons, Raymond Vanderpool, of Grove, Okla., Kenneth Vanderpool, of Kansas City, Kan., Ricky Vanderpool and his wife, Janey, of Hutchison, Kan., and Eddie Vanderpool and his wife, Nancy, of Grove, Okla.; one daughter, Carol VanPelt and her husband, Charles, of Fairland, Okla.; one sister, Artie Murray, of Tulsa, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.

She received her education in Barry County. She spent most of her adult life in Ulysses, Kan., where she was a homemaker. She moved to Exeter in 1990, and then in 2007 she moved to Kansas City, Kan., to live with her son, Kenneth.

Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Burial was at Russell Cemetery, Butterfield.
