Shirley Ann Dake, 67, of Wheaton, passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at her home.

She was born March 18, 1942, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Claude and Bertha (Laughlin) Buchanan. She married Dennis Dake Aug. 3, 1958, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three daughters, Tammy McCracken and her husband, Marc, of Cassville, Doreen Baker and her husband, Kendall, of Wheaton and Shana Miller, of Wheaton; one son, Eric Dake and his wife, Karen, of Purdy; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Buchanan and his wife, Helen, of Rose Hill, Kan., and John Buchanan and his wife, Johnnie Lee, of Rocky Comfort, and three sisters, Claudine Richardson and her husband, Norman, of Mulvane, Kan., Wilda Cornelison, of Towanda, Kan., and Karen LaPlant and her husband, Tom, of Mulvane, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Junior Buchanan, Ralph Buchanan, Don Buchanan and Dennis Buchanan; two sisters, Betty Taylor and Wilma Thomas; and one great-grandson.

She was a member of Wheaton Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held Friday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Steve Spillman conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort.
