Carl W. Winberry, 57, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in his home.

He was born July 15, 1952, in Qulin, the son of Cleasie and Lois (Bristow) Winberry. On July 15, 1973, in Marble Hill, he was united in marriage to Bertha Mae Dowler, who survives.

Additional survivors include: his mother, Lois Holland, of St. Louis; one son, Stacy Winberry and his wife, Stacy, of Cassville; one daughter, Malinda Tolbert and her husband, Kelly, of Butterfield; three brothers, James Winberry and his wife, Paula, of Lake Wales, Fla., Eugene Winberry, of Fulton, and Clay Winberry, of St. Louis; three sisters, Wanda Jaques and her husband, William, of Paragould, Ark., Teresa Riefke and her husband, Ricky, of Illinois, and Virginia Buechner and her husband, Jimmy, of Festus; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, Joe Holland, and a sister, Thelma Cox.

He received his education in Poplar Bluff, where he graduated from high school. In 1979, he moved from Galena to Cassville to make his home. For several years he was a bus driver and mechanic for Cassville Schools. He was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell and Rev. Danny Call conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
