Raymond Charles Knittle, 77, of Exeter, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at his home. He was born on July 15, 1932, in Englewood, Colo., son of Earl William and Jessie Pearl (Bedell) Knittle. He grew up and graduated high school from Englewood, Colo. On Oct. 15, 1953, he was united in marriage to Gloria A. Strickland in Wheatridge, Colo. He worked most of his life as a truck driver and then owned and operated several businesses in Colorado. In 1986 he retired to Snowflake, Ariz., then in 1991, he and Gloria made their home in Exeter. He was 1st Councilor in the Bishopric and most recently was the Branch Mission Leader with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cassville.

Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Gloria, Knittle, of Exeter; one son, Donald (Skip) Knittle, and his wife, Rebecca, of Centennial, Colo.; one daughter, Glory Dawn (Knittle) Dadiotis, of Gilbert, Ariz.; one sister, Anna Pearl Magee, of Littleton, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and one son, Ronald Knittle.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Cassville at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday). Burial will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter. Memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints Cassville.
