B. Rosalie Malan, 81, of Arkansas City, Kan., died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center of Arkansas City, Kan. Graveside services were held Oct. 30 at the Riverview Cemetery. Pastor Ted Brown officiated.

She was born Aug. 2, 1928, at Granby to Bob Guy and Lois C. (Bullington) Gibbons. She was reared and educated in Cassville. She attended Missouri State University and later graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1957. Rosalie married Everett Andrew Malan on Aug. 6, 1950, in Cassville. The couple made their home in Marshfield and Pierce City before moving to Arkansas City, Kan., in 1957. She was a homemaker but did teach home economics while living in Pierce City. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Stuart Andrew Malan, of Arkansas City, Kan.; and a sister-in-law Phyllis Henderson, of Monett. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Arrangements and cremation were made through Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City, Kan.
