Donald J. Patnode, 85, of Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Red Rose Health and Rehab in Cassville. He was born on Feb. 26, 1924, in Red Lake Falls, Minn., son of Joseph and Philimone (Brouillette) Patnode. He was a United States Army Veteran. He honorably served in World War II, earning a Bronze Star. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired from the United States Army after 28 years of dedicated service to our country. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert Patnode, of Cassville, and Richard Patnode, of Bartlesville, Okla.; one daughter, Debra Simonton, of Evanston, Wyo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Interment will be held at a later date in Delta, Colo.
Memorials may be made to the Cassville VFW Post #4205 and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home in Cassville.
