Levetta Rachael (June) King, 90, of Shell Knob, formerly of Bentonville, Ark., passed away at her daughter's home in Shell Knob, on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009.
She was born on March 14, 1919, in Tucumcari, N.M., the daughter of John and Mont (Pearson) Pring. Her family moved to Kansas where she graduated from high school in Herrington, Kan., in 1936, then attended business college in Kansas City. On Nov. 11, 1939 she was united in marriage to William Wayne King, who preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1998, in Bentonville, Ark.
Survivors include: one son, Robert James (Bob) King, and his wife, Nancy, of El Dorado, Kan.; one daughter, Karol Akin, and her husband, Stone, of Shell Knob; one sister, Edith Blanche Smith, of Charlevoix, Mich.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Norval (Pete) Pring and one son, John Wayne King in 2004.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday at the Bentonville Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark. Words of comfort will be spoken by her grandson, Lane Burrow, and son-in-law, Stone Akin.
