Calvin Edmund Bernard, 61, of Washburn, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, in his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1948, in Deadwood, S.D., the son of Raymond Joseph and Dorothy Maye (McCord) Bernard. On Feb. 14, 1972, in Evergreen, Colo., he was united in marriage to Lynne Marie Tittes, who survives.
Additional survivors include: three sons, John Kincannon, of Washburn, Jeremy Bernard and his wife, Michelle, of Washburn, Eric Bernard and his wife, Renea, of Washburn; two daughters, Amber Souder and her husband, Justin, of Washburn, and Autumn Bernard and Greg Swaffar, of Cassville; his mother, Dorothy Bernard, of Vernal, Utah; one brother, Norman Bernard and his wife, Elaine, of Vernal, Utah; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He received his education in Evergreen, Colo., graduating from high school and continuing with one year of college. For two years he served in the United States Navy on the USS Barry and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a construction worker for Jeremy Bernard Construction. Thirty-one years ago, he moved to Washburn from Evergreen, Colo., to make his home.
Memorial services with military honors were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Bob Scott conducted the services.
