Orah "Jane" Johnson, 88, of Shell Knob, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

She was born April 7, 1921, in Viola, the daughter of Earl Elliott and Agusta Laura (Schreiner) Curry. On Sept. 15, 1940, in Blue Eye, she was united in marriage to Willis Howard Johnson, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1987. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include: two sons, Richard Dean Johnson and Anita, of Tahlequah, Okla., and Michael Jean Johnson and Janet, of Shell Knob; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She received her elementary education at Viola and graduated from high school at Blue Eye. Her entire life was spent at Viola, where she was a long-time member of Viola Baptist Church. She had been song leader, secretary and treasurer several years at the church.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Bob Gaddis conducted the services. Burial was at Viola Cemetery.
