Mary A. Periman, 72, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Providence Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan. Interment followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requested contributions to the American Cancer Society.
She was born April 7, 1937, in Jenkins, to Jack and Ethel (Roark) Doty. She had lived in the Kansas City area for the last 55 years, working for Coopers Animal Health for 34 years before retiring in 1995. After her retirement, she worked for Walmart as a greeter until January of 2009.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Stewart and Esther Van DeMark; one brother, Fred Doty; and her husband, Charles F. Periman, who died in 1997.
Survivors include: two sons, Rick Doty and his wife Sue, of Springfield; and Kenny Periman, of Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Becky Simmons and Pam Jones, both of Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Bill Doty, of Republic; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
