Daniel George Brown, 51 of Seligman, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, in his home.

He was born Sept. 30, 1957, in Nova Scotia, Canada, the son of Lester Ross and Leona G. (Maclean) Brown. He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include: his mother, Leona Erwin, of Seligman; one son, Nathan Brown and his wife, Stephanie, and two grandchildren, all of Washington, Utah; one brother, Douglas Brown and his wife, Yvonne, of Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Cheryl Key, of Buena Park, Calif.; one stepbrother, Ray Erwin, of Ft. Smith, Ark.; and five stepsisters, Gloria, Nina, Trish, Tammy and Misty, all of Arkansas.

At the age of 3, he and his family moved to Massachusetts where they lived until they moved to California in 1972. He graduated from Fountain Valley High School in Fountain Valley, Calif., and joined the United States Army at the age of 17. After serving his country, he became a truck driver. He drove all over the United States and sometimes to Canada. He moved to Seligman seven years ago to make his home. He was a member of Skyline Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, Garfield, Ark. He was also a member of American Legion Post #0018 and attended Irwin-Easley Post #118, Cassville.

Memorial services with military honors were held Tuesday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. John Danner conducted the services.
