Sylvia Marie Still, 84, of Ridgley, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8. 2009, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation, Cassville, after a long illness.

She was born Oct. 15, 1924, the daughter of John and Lula (Andrews) Ridenour. On April 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Vernon Still and to this union three daughters and one son were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years; a daughter, Jeanie; and three brothers.

She lived most of her life in Barry County. In 1960, she moved to Green Forest, Ark., returning to Barry County in 1971, where she resided in the Ridgley community.

She was a member of Ridgley Southern Baptist Church and an honorary lifetime member of the Wheaton Saddle Club. She donated a lot of time and effort making pies and soups for the Thomas Hollow Fox Hunt, along with cooking for the community in times of need.

Survivors include: her three children, Shirley McAlister and her husband, Don, of Green Forest, Ark., Gary Still and his wife, Doylette "Sissy", of Rocky Comfort, and Becky Stelling and her husband, Jim, of Ridgley; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Juanita Smith, of Clinton, and Nadine Martin, of Purdy.

Funeral services were held Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. John Henry and Bro. Danny Heupel conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort.
