Beverly Gail Black, 61, of Cassville, passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at her home. She was born on March 29, 1948, in Amarillo, Texas, daughter of Benjamin and Bonnie (Wilson) Parks. She grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1965. She was united in marriage to Tom Black on June 9, 1968, at the Second Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas.
Since that time she and her husband have dedicated their life to serving Christ. In 2006, they moved to Cassville. During their time here, they have been very active in the Barry County Southern Baptist Association and helping with several area churches. She was an experienced pianist, teaching and playing in church for almost 50 years. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church where she had been the pianist for the last two years.
Survivors include: her husband, Tom Black, of Cassville; two sons, Alan Black, and his wife, Tessa, of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and John Black, of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Ben Parks, and his wife, Connie, of Amarillo, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Victory Baptist Church in Cassville with Rev. Russell Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the White Funeral Home in Cassville.
