OZELL BOWERS

Merle Ozell Bowers, 92, of Purdy, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Monett Health Care. She was born Dec. 19, 1916, in Stella, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Ida (Brewer) Wyatt. She was united in marriage to Lowell Bowers on Oct. 17, 1932, in Neosho, and he preceded her in death June 30, 1980.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Purdy.

Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth Bowers, of Purdy, Richard Bowers, of San Ramon, Calif., and Malloy Bowers, of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Carrie McMillan, of Shawnee, Okla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Aug. 26 at the First Baptist Church in Purdy with Rev. Tony Martin officiating. Burial was at the Muncie Cemetery near Wheaton.

Arrangements were under the care of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
