Judith M. "Judy" Nelson, 66, of Shell Knob, passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, in her home.

She was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Wallace G. and Mildred I. (Loven) Olson. On June 22, 1968, in Minneapolis, she was united in marriage to Allan A. Nelson, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, John Nelson and his wife, Sara, of Mankato, Minn., Kris Nelson and his wife, Emily, of Overland Park, Kan., and Kyle Nelson and his wife, Jill, of Allen, Texas; one brother, Tom Olson and his wife, Betty, of Bloomington, Minn.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She received her education in Minnesota, first at Bancroft Elementary, then Folwell Junior High and Roosevelt High School, where she graduated. She graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. She taught physical education and art in all levels, elementary, high school and college. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kan.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, in Augsburg College, Minneapolis, Minn., with a reception following.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
