Norma Harris, 79, of Purdy, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at the St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born on Nov. 14, 1929, in the Gunter community, near Butterfield, the daughter of Carl and Ella Mae (Buntin) Brown. She was a lifelong resident of the Purdy and Butterfield area. She married Junior Inman on Oct. 27, 1945, in Erie, Kan., and to that union five children were born, Jed, Richard, Jerri, Melissa, and Roy. On Dec. 23, 1964, in Eureka Springs, Ark., she was united in marriage to the late Dr. Noel E. Harris and to that union two children were born, Sam and Lorri.

Survivors include: four sons, Jed Inman and his wife, Betty, of Butterfield, Richard Inman and his wife, Shelley, of Wheaton, Roy Allen Inman and his wife, Debra, of Pierce City, and Sam Harris and his wife, Teresa, of Cassville; three daughters, Jerri Taylor and her husband, Jimmy Joe, of Butterfield, Melissa Cahalan and her husband, Tom, of Pierce City, and Lorri Harris Mooney, of Cassville; Kimee Bennett, of Purdy, who was raised by Norma as one of her own; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mark Brown and his wife, Glenna, of Purdy, and Mike Brown and his wife, Sharon, of Decatur, Ark.; and one sister, Carla Land and her husband, Jim, of Purdy. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held Saturday at the Sparks Cemetery near Butterfield, with Rev. Doyle Russell officiating. Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
