TOM JUNIOR BENTON

Tom Junior Benton, 79, of Washburn, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at the Barry County Care Center in Cassville. He was born on March 30, 1930, in Harrison, Ark., son of William and Verlie (Six) Benton. He married Laverne Roberts in 1949. They divorced in 1974. He later married Virginia Wilson, who preceded him in death in 1999. He worked most of his life in construction.

Survivors include: one son, Michael (Moose) Benton, of Washburn; two daughters, Diane Stafford, of Rogers, Ark., and Melissa Eaton, of Fayetteville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Benton, and one daughter, Helen Lavonne Benton.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, Ark., with words of comfort spoken by Tim Eaton and Glenn Faulkner.
