Harold Benson "Bennie" Burton, 62, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at his home. He was born on Jan. 22, 1947, in Kirksville, the son of Harold B. Sr. and Lucretia Delezene (Roberts) Burton. On July 1, 1989, he married Linda (Dalton) Clay, in Chula.
He worked as a general superintendent for Ozark Mountain Apparel and was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Quails Unlimited.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda, of the home; two sons and their wives, Donald and Angie Burton, of Springfield, and Daren and Kim Burton, of Alexandria, La.; two stepchildren and their spouses, Athena and Michael Melnicki, of Joplin, and, Jeremy and Kim Clay, of Aurora; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Randy Burton, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Bill Burton and his wife, Lisa, and Gary Burton, all of Cassville.
His parents, and his sister, Linda Scott, preceded him in death.
Funeral service were held August 19 at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home with burial in the Maple Park Cemetery.
