BOBBY GENE TURNER

Bobby Gene Turner, 74, of Decatur, Ark., died Aug. 14, 2009, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab Center, Siloam Springs, Ark. He was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Exeter, the son of elmon Turner and Florence Davis Turner. On May 1, 1954, he married Lois "Nadine" Lee in Cloves, N.M. He worked as a roughneck on an oil rig in Texas. He retired as a lead man for Peterson Farms. He was of the Assembly of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Nadine Turner; two brothers, Wilbur Turner and Earl Turner; and two sisters, Merle Reynolds and Evalee Korbe.

Survivors include: two sons, Steve Turner and his wife, Charlene, of Lincoln, Ark., and John Turner and his wife, Dana, of Springdale, Ark.; one daughter, Deanna Crawford and her husband, Pete, of Decatur, Ark.; one brother, Donald Turner, of Stark City; three sisters, Margaret "Babe" Shaw, of Perryton, Texas, Imogene Haines, of Leottia, Kan., and Vera Mays, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Falling Springs Cemetery near Decatur, Ark., with Kirk Anderson officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
