Edna Marie Summers, 82, of Springfield, formerly of Kansas City, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at her home.
She was born July 15, 1927, in Monett, the daughter of Ernest and Jennie (DeCocq) Planchon. She was united in marriage May 20, 1944, to Darrel P. Summers, who preceded her in death, Feb. 28, 1997. In May of 1998, she married Armond Wilson, of Miller, who survives.
Additional survivors include: her three children, Evelyn Summers and husband, Don Warmbrodt, of Raytown, Gary Summers and wife, RaeLynn, of Springfield, and Phillip Summers and wife, Jody, of Kansas City; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Viola Robison, of Danville, Calif.; two brothers-in-law, Les Snodgrass and wife, Veda, of Tracy, Calif., and Bob Snodgrass and wife, Betty, of Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Jennie Planchon and three brothers Ralph, Ernest and Willis Brendlinger.
She graduated from Exeter High School in 1945. She worked at B. F. Goodrich Tire Company and North Kansas City School District. She was a long-time member of the Linden Baptist Church in Gladstone, and later moved her membership to Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in Springfield.
Funeral services were held Monday at Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Evelyn Summers conducted the services. Burial was at Waldensian Presbyterian Cemetery in Monett.
