Mildred Lavern Vitantonio, 75, passed away on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at her home in Cassville.

She was born on June 12, 1934, in Pittsburg, Penn., the daughter of Bill and Margaret (Hamond) Cummings. She married Charles Vitantonio on Oct. 4, 1965, in Clevland, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She worked as a dietary cook for healthcare facilities most of her life. Three years ago, she moved to the Cassville area from Arizona to be closer to her family.

Survivors include: two sons, Jerry and Danny Golden, and his wife, Tina, all of San Bernardino, Calif.; two daughters, Connie Curran, and her husband, Bill, of Cassville, and Marlene Akin, and her husband, Mark, of San Bernardino, Calif.; three brothers; five sisters; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers and one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville with Chaplain Jack Betts officiating.
