HAROLD LEE WILLIAMS

Harold Lee Williams, 88, passed away on July 19, 2009, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born April 21, 1921, to Herbert Williams and Glen (thomas) Williams, who both preceded him in death. He owned a farm south of Aurora, where he raised award-winning cattle. He was a charter member and former president of the Aurora Saddle Club. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and travelled around the world as an airplane mechanic.

He was married to Harriet Fly and was the father of a son, Sammy Lee, and a daughter, Linda Hartwigsen.

He was preceded in death by his wife and daughter.

His second wife, Ruth Bailey, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his son, Sammy and his wife, Sue Allmart, of Mexico, Mo.; and stepsons, Joe and Sonny Bailey. Also surviving are six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene Williams and his wife, Ylene, of Marionville, Roy Williams, and his wife Valda, of Springfield, tom Williams and his wife, Lee, of Aurora, Charles Williams and his wife, Delores, of Sunrise Beach, Martin Williams and his wife Garlene, of Unionville; and sisters, Elsa Manes, of Springfield, Willodean Vaught, of Cassville, Rebakah Miller and her husband, Rex, of Cassville, Evalina Shippee and her husband, Gene, of aurora, and Glenna Edmondson, of Cassville.

Funeral services were held July 22 at Peterson's Funeral home, Aurora, with interment at Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.
