Corliss A. Rose, 81, of Washburn, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009, in her home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Sterling City, Calif., the daughter of Jack and Nell Mae (Cullen) Hughes. On Oct. 1, 1959, she was united in marriage to Lennis Rose, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Richard Rose and his wife, Charlene, of Gateway, Ark., and Carl Hoffarth and his wife, Barbara, of Springdale, Ark.; one daughter, Gretchen Pool and her husband, Ronald, of Gentry, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Micheal Lennis Rose; one brother, Michael Hughes; one sister, Shirley Harris; and two grandchildren.
She had been employed as a nurse's aid at Springdale Memorial Hospital in Springdale, Ark., for awhile, and for five years she was employed at Fasco. She had also worked for Daisy B-B for a time. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker and raising chickens. She was a member of Mission Baptist Church, Washburn.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Mission Baptist Church, Washburn, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Roller Cemetery, Washburn.
