Eunice "Ma" Lyall, age 89, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Red Rose Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 1, 1920, in Barry County, Missouri, the 6th of nine children to Robert and Farry (Lester) Patton, who preceded her in death along with her eight siblings, Myrtle, Donald, Leroy, Merle, Aubrey, Paul, Ruth Woods and Lois Thomas.

On March 15, 1941, in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Floyd Lyall, who preceded her in death on Saturday, July 18, 1981. To this union five children were born. Robert "Bob" Lyall preceded her in death in 1998.

Surviving children are: Sue and Johnny Rose, of Republic, Missouri, Janice and Jack Varner, of Washburn, Missouri, Jerry and LaRue Lyall, of Cassville and Mary Lyall, of Cassville; a daughter-in-law, Cheyrl Lyall, of Springdale, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Johnalene and Tim Mooneyham, Jina and Jody Brown, Wade Lyall and Scott Lyall, Dana and John Duke, Rob and Corie Lyall and Jill and Jamie Smithson; 10 great-grandchildren, Jason and Lacey Mooneyham, Amanda and Jake West, Adam Brown, Jacqueline Brown, Phoebe Duke, Sophie Duke, Jack Lyall, Payne Lyall, Hannah Smithson and Houston Smithson; one great-great-grandchild (Baby Mooneyham) is expected in January; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

"Ma" as most people knew her, grew up in Barry County and attended school at Shady Grove. For many years Eunice worked and volunteered in the Cassville School System. She loved children and children loved her. She touched many generations of lives during her years at the school. Eunice finally decided to leave the work force at the age of 80, and then began volunteering at the Barry County Senior Center until her health no longer allowed it.

She was a member of the Southern Hills Church of Christ in Aurora, where she attended diligently until her health prevented her from attending. Her family and the many family get-togethers were her greatest enjoyment, especially in her senior years.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Roy Lee Criswell conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville.

The family receiveed friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
