Gary "Bruce" Coffey, 60, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., formerly of Wheaton, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. He was born on Aug. 15, 1948, in Twin Falls, Idaho, son of George Coffey and Kathleen (Wear) Hilburn.
He graduated from Wheaton High School in 1966. He worked as a maintence employee for ADM Milling Company in Mt. Vernon, Ind., for 14 years. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church of Cassville.
Survivors include: his father, George Coffey, of Ridgley; his mother, Kathleen Hilburn, of Eagle Rock; one son, Jason Bruce Coffey, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one brother, Donnie Coffey, of Wheaton; one sister, Susan Sorenson, of Exeter; and two granddaughters.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Russell Cemetery in Butterfield with Rev. Paul Yarnall officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home in Cassville.
