Purdy students are courageous Purdy Elementary Principal Jeff Swadley has announced character education medal winners for the month of May. Purdy's preschool through fourth grade teachers, in partnership with elementary counselor Gary Jurgensen, teach a different character trait each month. At the end of the month each grade level nominates two students who best exemplify the trait presented. These students receive character medals from Mr. Swadley. Area businesses also display posters reinforcing each month's message. May's lessons focused on courage, and medal winners are pictured above. In the front row, from left, are: preschoolers Isaac Green and Morgan McGuire. Second row: Elmer Rueda and Kyren Postlewait, kindergarten; Eddie Gaydou, second grade; Hector Perez, first grade; and Megan Thomas, fourth grade. Third row: Anthony Gonzalez and Amber Plemons, third grade; Jacy Taylor, fourth grade; Makenzie Crumpler, second grade; and Jeff Swadley, principal.
